FOR LOVE OF THE GAME...

Matty Demaine played lacrosse for the Franklin County Catamounts, Northfield Mount Hermon, and Dartmouth College. In 2000 Matty’s local team, Team Gill, won what was then called the ‘Real Millennium Tournament.’

It was a shock to all who knew Matty to learn of his sudden death on April 10th, 2001, while a freshman at Dartmouth College. In an effort to both honor his memory and carry on his love of the sport, a scholarship fund has been set up through the non-profit Sports for Life Foundation, benefiting lacrosse programs in Western Massachusetts. A portion of the proceeds from this tournament will go directly to the fund. This tournament has been re-named in his honor.
