Select Field Hockey

Our mission is to provide girls the opportunity to compete in field hockey while developing their skills, confidence, and experience. We work with every player to help them meet their personal goals. We provide the tools, experience, and exposure they need to improve their high school game or play at the collegiate level of their choice.

Not every player is destined for UCONN or Wake Forest. Understanding that, we work with our players to help them achieve success at every level. By providing our teams with high level competition our players will develop the skills and confidence that will make them standouts at any level.

The IAS Select Field Hockey program has players of all ages participating from all over New England. It is organized by Lynn Anderson Hoeppner of Indoor Action Sports. Teams are for girls aged U-14, U-16 & U-19 depending on the event. Players are invited to participate in this program through recommendations or by having been seen and met by Lynn, or other IAS staff. The main criteria are that a player desires a higher level of competition, is a team player, and wants to learn. Players are informed of various events and can choose according to their schedule and budget. The Select teams practice December through March and compete throughout the year, traveling to different venues that offer superb levels of competition, as well as practice and competition on both turf and indoor surfaces. Players gain experience and exposure that helps them take their game to the next level.

Tryouts for the Indoor Action Select Field Hockey teams will be:

U/14 – Saturday December 12^th, 2009: 3:00 – 5:00

U/16 – Saturday December 5^th , 2009: 2:00 – 5:00 & Saturday December 12th, 2009 from 3-6pm
Players may tryout for the National Indoor Qualifying team and/or the U-16 Disney Showcase Team as well as for the Local/Regional/Practice team

U/19 – Saturday December 5^th , 2009: 2:00 – 5:00 & Saturday December 12th, 2009 from 3-6pm
Players may tryout for the National Indoor Qualifying teams (2) and the Local/Regional/Practice team
